About me…
My work is shaped by a clear understanding that complex projects succeed or fail not only on technical merit, but on political context, perception and judgement.
Over more than a decade I have worked at the intersection of politics, policy and commercial delivery. I served eight years as an elected local councillor, worked in Parliament and held senior communications leadership roles within major regeneration and infrastructure organisations. That experience has given me first-hand insight into how decisions are made, how positions evolve and how stakeholder pressure can influence outcomes.
I founded Charlotte Leach Communications after identifying a gap in the market for senior strategic counsel that is politically literate, commercially grounded and able to embed fully within leadership teams. Organisations navigating planning, policy or reputational sensitivity often require experienced judgement at board level rather than additional layers of delivery. My model allows me to integrate directly into client teams while remaining agile and independent.
My perspective is informed by having operated on both sides of decision-making processes. I understand how elected representatives assess risk, how officers balance competing priorities and how organisations must position themselves to secure trust and credibility. This dual lens enables me to anticipate challenges early and to advise with clarity and proportion.
I work with a selective portfolio of developers, infrastructure clients, investors and civic leaders who value discretion, sound judgement and strategic focus. Whether supporting stakeholder engagement, advising on public affairs, guiding consultation strategy or navigating reputational pressure, my role is to provide calm, politically informed counsel at critical moments.
Alongside my professional work, I have served as a school governor, charity trustee and board member of a national trust property. Civic leadership and public service remain central to how I approach my advisory practice.
In all that I do, I prioritise clear thinking, careful judgement and advice that is commercially realistic and politically aware.
